About
Our home originally opened in 1989, under ownership of Anita Astle MBE, and her parents, Doctor and Mrs Kesari. Anita is a dedicated Registered General Nurse, who plays a hands-on role as manager, team leader, mentor, and friend.
We have a team of approximately 145 highly-qualified staff members, and are committed to providing exceptional, round-the-clock nursing care.
Located near Junction 27 of the M1, we’re within easy access for relatives and friends to visit; something we actively encourage for the wellbeing and happiness of our family members.
Adjoining our home is Little Wrens Nursery; a wonderful space where children aged 0-5 can grow, learn and play. We understand the importance of intergenerational relationships here at Wren Hall, and so take advantage of having the nursery as neighbours — regularly meeting for lunch, activities and stories.

Autonomy and Choice
We actively encourage independence, enabling family members to participate in day-to-day activities, make choices and retain a sense of purpose and achievement. We also support them in handling their own financial affairs, as long as they have the ability and inclination.
All care plans are prepared in consultation with family members and relatives, with unrestricted access to personal records at any time.
There are various support organisations and government agencies, which may be able to give assistance with funding or advice, should any problems arise that you/your loved one do not wish to discuss with staff at Wren Hall.
Advocacy
Advocacy Services provide information, support and representation to vulnerable older people who may be facing decisions about their future. This includes continuing to live at home, moving into or from a care home, and enabling them to ask for services to which they are entitled.
Such a service enables older people to explore options and make the best choices within given circumstances.
Our ethos is to ensure each family member who moves into our home is met with love. So, we provide respectful, meaningful and empowering care, with a focus on enabling independence.
Inclusivity
At Wren Hall, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all within our care community. We are committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment that celebrates diversity and respects the unique experiences and backgrounds of each individual. We wish for Wren Hall to be a space where all family members and their relatives feel valued, heard, and understood. We actively promote open communication and encourage family involvement, recognising the vital role loved ones play in the care journey. With a person-centred approach, we tailor our services to meet the specific needs of each family member, embracing their individuality and enriching their lives with meaningful experiences.
Sustainability
We understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations and are committed to our sustainability and environmental responsibility. We strive to create a greener, more sustainable environment for our family members, staff, and the broader community. We actively integrate sustainable practices into our daily operations. Our team is continuously exploring innovative ways to incorporate greener technologies and methods, ensuring that we contribute positively to the health of the planet as well as maintaining the highest standards of care.

Three generations discuss Mental Health
This initiative aimed to showcase the diverse perspectives that people from different age groups hold regarding mental well-being. By bringing together representatives from younger, middle-aged, and older generations, we hoped to promote a holistic understanding of mental health challenges and solutions. This event not only encouraged open and insightful discussions but also allowed for the sharing of valuable experiences, knowledge, and coping strategies across the generations. Our goal was to emphasize the importance of collective awareness and support when it comes to mental health, making it a topic that transcends generational boundaries.
At Wren Hall, our sole aim is to ensure that each of our family members lives a happy, fulfilling, comfortable life. Through innovative care, a strong focus on intergenerational relationships, and disrupting the ‘norms’, we’ve created a culture of care that empowers our family members, and helps them feel seen, heard, and loved. Our efforts have been recognised by a number of leading healthcare regulators and awarding bodies, including:
Gold Standards Framework - Platinum
